Edit
Hi there,
SD is difficult to handle at times. Some insurances can be difficult in covering botox injections mainly because they don't understand SD. If you have trouble, get your doctor to call them and explain the necessity.

There hasn't been much luck with oral medication. Alcohol always helps relax the muscles but you don't want to become addicted to that.

Basically your options are botox, usually every three months, or SLAD-R surgery if you are ADSD, but only as a last resort if you are moderate to severe. Voice therapy can help you relax and maximize your use of breath and pronunciation in case you are wrongly compensating for the disorder, which many of us do.
