I, too, have had the full symptoms of SD for almost 2 years. It took 7 months to get a diagnosis and referral to the specialist in Louisiana. Still trying to get treatment just right and this takes time and patience for some. I agree, go to the NSDA website and find an ENT or laryngologist who specializes in SD and does the Botox treatments - which if you have ADDUCTOR (closure of the vocal cords), this is your best course of relief of your symptoms, right now. Speech therapy may also help, especially if you have breathing issues due to compensations you have made trying to speak through the spasms. There's a lot of information on the internet as well.
