I've just been diagnoised with abductor which is the harder type to treat. I lived with this for 12 yrs being misdiagnoised. I now had my first shot of botox 2 weeks ago & have had no change other then serious breathing problems(which I have another muscle disorder which affects my resp. muscles). I am scheduled for shot monthly till there is improvement(so how long do I go till someone says this isn't going to work) I do have trouble having a poison injected into me on a regular basis with no results other then nasty side affects. I have decided to stop with 1 shot & try other options 1st one being voice amplifier. I too have some strange temporary fixes for getting some kind of voice out of me.(like laying upside down to talk on phone & talking on my inhale.) GOOD LUCK
