Anyone try to live without botox?

Edit
I've had abductor SD for almost a year now. My speech pathologist looked at me last year, around May, and said "You've got to undestand that this is not going to get better...it's NOT getting better". His tone was very stoic and impersonal, and I took it as a challenge.

Since May, 2009, I have not had botox. I do have some days where my voice is worse (higher pitched like a pubescent teenager and slightly weak), but it's audible, and not declining as a whole. As a matter of fact, my morning voice is getting gradually better. Also, I do have some good days. With the botox, I did have up to a week of initial whispered volume voice before the improvement. What's interesting is that I can imitate others fairly well (especially cartoon character voices)-- just can't imitate myself yet!

I've tried singing, and I've found that if I stick my finger into one ear (where I can hear myself), I can adjust my voice better and overcome some of the shakiness.

Just curious as to whether others have shunned the food poisoning regiment.
