Some people have difficulty swallowing liquids for a few days and up to a week after a Botox shot. You can control this problem by bending your head so your chin touches the body and swallowing slowly. In my case, I asked the ENT to lower my Botox dosage and that helped quite a bit to minimize the swallowing problem.Some people do have problems with coverage for Botox injection. But when dealing with a health insurance company, a letter from the ENT explaining that SD is a neurological disorders usually is a big help. Many insurance companies will cover neurological disorders.
