Edit
SD is a neurological voice disorder and a dystonia of the larynx. As such, it is a focal dystonia.

SD is not related to myasthenia gravis other than the fact that they both are neurological disorders.

The success rate of Botox injections for abductor SD patients is not as high as that for adductor SD patients. However, there are many abductor SD patients who receive good results from Botox injections.

It is important to be treated by an ENT who has alot of experience with SD patients. The diagnosis of SD is usually made by a team: otolaryngologist, speech-language pathologist, and neurologist.

Good luck to you.
