We went with 2.5 on Thursday. My doctor feels very strongly about going "incrementally." Nothing seemed to be happening as of Friday afternoon and I was feeling pretty discouraged. Then I developed a pretty sore throat (although I'm beginning to suspect I just have the bug that's been going around, although I hear some people develop cold/flu-like symptoms in response to Botox...?) Anyway, Saturday morning I could speak with NO effort and very few breaks in my voice, although I definitely have very little volume. Saturday my voice was higher-pitched than normal, but now I sound more like Frog Woman...but I still sound pretty darn smooth and there's no effort to speak at all--I can't believe what I sound like! I was telling some friends last night that even if I don't improve beyond this and still sound like Frog Woman I'd be pretty happy, because I can speak with ease and don't have the constant breaking up of my voice. I've been told to expect things to continue to improve over the next week or so and of course now comes the question of how long my improvement will last. It'll be interesting to see how it goes at work, I go back on Wednesday--I do have to deal with background noise, but maybe some of my volume will have returned by then. It's nice to have some relief after 8 months! :)
