Edit
I understand. When I was receiving Botox injections, it took quite awhile to get anything of a voice back after injections. I went the surgical route and have a steady, but very hoarse voice. Frankly, I got sick and tired of avoiding this or that - and feeling sorry for myself - and I now go into any situation and any vocal encounter with confidence and a determined attitude. I think when people see that you are strong, determined, and not loathing in self pity, a respect for you and your condition unfolds. This all comes after you have to endure the usual banter and response you must provide to, "What's wrong with your voice?" or "Lost your voice, eh?" I just say I have had surgeries without great success and it is what it is. We then move on and have conversations and true dialogue. I believe anticipation is worse than the encounter.
