Hi,
I am new to SD myself too. I was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia earlier this month actually and have been suffering with it on and off since September. I know I have absolutely no right to complain, as there are so many others who have had SD for a number of years. My doctor was able to do the botox treatment for me earlier this month but instead of sounding strangled my voice now sounds very hoarse. But I'm still having a hard time with the adjustment. Mostly my largest struggle is with my work, I'm a medical receptionist and was able to function perfectly but now people have a very hard time understanding anything I'm saying either at work or socially. It's a big adjustment but just knowing there are so many others in this community has really helped me.
