Edit
Being from a small hick town, I guess I was lucky to even get a diagnosis. The EENT Dr. I saw ran a scope down to check for polyps on my vocal cords incase that was the problem with my speech. He then said I have SD and sent me to a speech therapist, saying anyone can MAKE their voice sound like I do. I told him this is not something I choose. He never mentioned Botox, or what my future has in store. Just said that my vocal cords were not vibrating like they should, that SD is all in ones head. I don't know, maybe it was just a pun, but I took it personally.
There was never a diagnosis of AD or AB, doubt if he knew. But my voice is barely audible, I would rather not talk now because it sounds so pathetic, makes me sound so weak.
I think I am going to set up an appointment at the Mayo in Minnesota, get a proper diagnosis. Does anyone have any Doctor they would recomment there?
Just seems to have progressed so rapidly. Started noticing symptoms about a year ago, diagnosed about two months ago, took a turn for the worse about two weeks ago.
