Hi,
My understanding is that it takes about 10 days for the botox to reach it's maximum effect. After that point the muscle gradually begins to gain strength (healing the damaged nerve synapses). During that time your voice will gain strength and sound more and more normal and eventually the spasms will return. In my own experience I always see a gradual weakening of my voice for about 1-2 weeks and then a return of more normal sound after that. If you have too long a "breathy" period you can discuss the side effects with your doctor and work to find the dosing that works best and gives you the least down time. Good Luck!
