Spasmodic Dysphonia Bulletin Board

Today is day 5 after my first botox injection. I still have shortness of breath and a little trouble swallowing. I am waiting paitiently for my normal voice to come back...ok not so patiently. I am praying it will come. My mom says I sound better in my normal conversations, but my dispatching is still not good at all. I am thinking positive and know this botox will kick in any day!

I would see another doctor, and I would try botox injections. Even if it is a treatment if it works you can continue to work. They will have to take me out screaming and fighting before I give up my job. Fortunatly for me my officers have been very understanding and have put up with me thus far, the fire dept however is a different story but they know I am trying to get better. The botox injection was not as bad as I thought it would be. I have a few side effects that are normal, but if it works it will be soooooo worth it. DONT GIVE UP....

To the people that have had botox injections....how long did it take for it to start working?????
