I have had SD since I was 18 and not diagnosed untill I was 30 and didnt try botox untill this year and I am 44.
My voice never got worse. It was always kind of bad......But, Speech therapy helped alittle and the breathing exercises I learned helped too. I am having success with botox. Although I still need to lower the dose, because I have breathiness, hoarsness and whispery voice for a long time......months in my case. But, my voice returned normal for 5 months straight. I think that with a good attitude, botox, speech therapy you can really move on and handle it. ITs tough sometimes, but YOU CAN DO IT!! That doctor who told you that it would get so bad you wouldnt talk one day is a moron. That isnt true!! I never heard of that or was ever told that. Everyone has different degrees of SD and different kinds AB OR AD YOu cant pinpoint the future. I had a remission every time I was pregnant. Good Luck!! keep positive it helps alot |
