Hello, My name is Jamie. After a 2 1/2 year battle with my voice,I have finally been diagnosed with AB/SD. While it is a terrible thing I am excited to finally be diagnosed. I am a 911 dispatcher and have to use my voice 12 hours daily, under stressful situations. I am in great fear of losing my job. I have been in law enforcement for 17 years, I love it and do not want to lose it.
I had my first Botox injection last Friday. I am very nervous and I want it to work so badly. I havent noticed a difference yet, my family says I sound somewhat better but I am still waiting. I have noticed that I get out of breath easily. I walk across the room and get out of breath. Does anyone else experience this?? Is it normal?? and if so, how long does it last??
It is nice to have this bulletin board, as for awhile I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem and it was a very lonley place to be.
