I agree with a little laughter helps make this disorder easier to cope with too, and can totally relate to your posting of these voice prompts! I hesitate to start my sentence or words, so I'm usually to slow for "Herman" and he makes me start all over again.
I have now learned to just keep hitting the operator key until I get a real person.
We have a car with voice activation controls and GPS. You should see me trying to have a conversation with it. Good thing I don't have to drive it with my voice, because I'd still be zigzagging my way half way around the world!
