Edit
Hi there,

I have AB SD as well, and just had my injection on Tuesday, and it's really badly affected by breathing. When I inhale I really struggle to intake air and am struggling with my breathing with any additional exertion, even with simple things like climbing stairs and walking, which is not good at all. I've had problems with my breathing before and not been this bad, which is a worry and a real shame, as I have been doing so well.

Re: swallowing, I have had problems with my swallowing before as well, occassionally wiht fluids, but more often with foods. Luckily so far, my swallowing doesn't seem to be too badly affected this time round.

If you are experiencing this, please be very careful, and eat soft foods that are easy to swallow, such as soups, etc. It will wear off eventually, but I appreciate it's worrying at the time. I would also suggest you contact your doctor and let them know the diffculties you are experiencing. It could be that the doctor has slightly missed the target muscle, or has given a slightly too high a dose, or you are sensitive to the botox. For me, I also find things like having an allergy, or virus, or my system being low, or the length of time between injections, seems to somehow affect how I respond to my injection.

I know it's extremely frustrating and quite worrying when you get adverse side-effects to the botox, but it will eventually ease, just be very careful with what you eat, and let your doctor know, and take care of you.

With best wishes,

Snowie,
AB SD, Devon, UK
