Edit
Unfortunately, yes.
My first injection was too much for me (2.5 units bilaterally) and I had a problem with choking on liquids if i wasn't careful for about 2 weeks. I didn't have any trouble with solid food though.
I highly recommend you going to your pharmacy and buying a product called Thick-it. I is a flavorless powder you add to any liquid to get it thick enough to drink without choking. Its great with any juice drinks but nasty with water.
Another trick is to drink with a straw with your chin touching your chest.
For me I was "breathy" for about 6 weeks but a great voice kicked in for 3-4 months! It was enough time for me to get my life back, and be more positive about this stupid condition we have, that there is something to help fix it.
I know its frustrating what your dealing with, but hang in there. We're here for your support.
I'm down to 0.5 units unilaterally now with only two weeks of a laryngitis sounding voice, (which is OK for me) and even going lower to 0.3 units next time.
keep the faith!
Are you AD or AB? And how much Botox did you get?
